Description: She could smell gas even before she opened the door, and her immediate thoughts were for the safety of her beloved pets Sophie and Leo. Sophie was a Norwegian Forest cat while Leo was a Maine Coon Cat. Once the front door was open, the smell of pungent rotten egg odor was even more potent. She rushed from room to room opening the windows and then sought out the source of the gas leak. She didn’t have to look far for the source of the leak or the culprits who might have caused it. Lying on the kitchen floor, groggy from the lack of fresh air were Sophie and Leo. They had been playing on the kitchen counter and had discovered the gas stove with its twistable knobs. Not being able to resist something that moves, one, or the other had twisted two of the gas knobs allowing gas to escape from the vents. Molly scooped up her drugged pets and drove them to the vets. The vet said they would be fine, but he wanted to keep them overnight for observation.
